Rainy Day

Last week I sat out on my porch and shot pictures as I watched the rain fall.  It was peaceful and relaxing.  I got some fun shots, sometimes shooting with a small aperture and a slow shutter speed while zooming.  Some are a little different, but I decided I like them. ; D

Signs of Spring

I am thoroughly delighted that spring is here.  Flowers are blooming, bees buzzing, birds singing, calves kicking and playing in pastures without a care in the world, and new life is just flourishing everywhere.  It's delightful and encouraging to observe all this after a gray and dull winter.   Here are some recent (mostly macro) pictures I've taken of the happy spring colors.  ; D

Noble Ben

I love how solemn and dignified this big guy looks (normally he's a complete baby). ; )  Plus the lighting is captivating.

Lightning+Taking Pictures=Doubts of Sanity

Lightning is truly awesome.  It's powerful, beautiful and thoroughly intimidating when you are standing in the middle of an open field.  ; )  Most of the time I try to stay undercover while shooting it, but once in a while to get the best shot I have to... Umm... shove away some commonsense,  while trying not to think about getting struck and step out into the storm. ; )    And some people think being a photographer is boring.... ; D

Oh yeah, I was intimidated by this bolt, but I got the picture! : D

Sunset

I loved this sunset we had the other day.  I got some creative shots so I was a happy photographer. : )

Misty Moring

Yesterday I was able to capture a beautiful sunrise.  Normally I don't like dragging myself out of bed at (in my opinion) a ridiculous hour, but I was happy I did this time.  ; D

Learning Macro

I unfortunately do not have a macro lens at the moment.  : (  Big bummer.  One of my friends though showed me a trick that enabled me to take macro shots, without spending $1,000.  ; )  I was thrilled to get pictures of the smaller world.

Butterfly

I love this butterfly picture, but I gotta tell you it is SO HARD (at least out here in the Midwest) to get a picture of a Monarch butterfly with it's wings open.  I chased those things for 45 minutes.  Yeah, a nut moment, but I got the picture. ; D
